Reflective Report on Australian Aborigines

Researching on the history of Australian Aborigines and the challenges that they have faced for centuries was revealing of the extent of the prejudices and discrimination that the community has endured for centuries. When the British and Irish settlers colonized Australia, they treated Aborigines as inferior beings, attempting to exterminate them through massacres, genocides and putting them in concentration camps. The repeated attempts to wipe them out is perhaps one of the reasons that the Aboriginals comprise only 2% of the Australian population despite being the earliest inhabitants of the country.
