Does Viewing Violence Lead to Violent Behavior

Seeing violence in the media frequently affects viewers in three main ways; firstly, they become desensitized to incidences of pain and suffering. People who watch violent scenes over a long period may not experience anxiety from seeing the imagery. In some cases, they may perceive these scenes as enjoyable. Secondly, people, and children particularly, become fearful of their surroundings, and thirdly, it may lead viewers to display aggressive and violent behavior.
