Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): neurodevelopmental disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder in reference to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. The condition is referred to as a spectrum due to its multiple and varied symptoms. Moreover, ASD is majorly critical in children where it affects their cognitive and behavioral developmental processes. The neurodevelopmental disorder results in deficits of communication, social affective connections and differential in having normal intelligence.
