Nurses Role in Decision Making

Nurses have an integral role to play in the delivery of quality care and protection of patients against adverse outcomes. These professionals are thus actively engaged in activities aimed at enhancing patient care processes. Due to their direct involvement in patient care, nurses are better positioned to identify the challenges facing communication, workflows, and workplace relationships. This indicates that these professionals provide instrumental insight into operations in the hospital. The information gathered from the nurses is crucial in identifying an information system capable of improving service delivery to the patients besides addressing the challenges facing daily operations at the workplace. The selection of information systems is part of the nurses’ role in improving patient care.
