Alcohol and Drug Addiction are a Disease

Drug addiction occurs when drug users develop a strong compulsion to obtain drugs and consume them regularly. Some people perceive that drug consumption contributes to a better feeling, but they do not realize the adverse, dangerous, and undesirable effects that the drugs may cause to their lives. The consumption of medications, such as alcohol and marijuana, is likely to result in many brain damage cases that may interfere with individuals' typical behaviors. The drug addiction also extends to various prescription medicines that people may take as painkillers. Drug addicts' brains do no function generally due to the interruption of response to multiple stimuli such as stress or self-control.
