Understanding the Meaning of Psychology

Psychology is actually made up of two Greek words: "psyche" (meaning soul or mind) and "logos" (meaning knowledge or study). So the word "psychology" literally means the study of the mind or soul. The term was coined in the 16th century by the German scholar, philosopher, and physician Rudolf Goclenius.
