Tough Conversations in Human Resource Management

As the human resource manager of a company, if a female employee came to me upset because she felt a male coworker was creating a hostile work environment by repeatedly asking her out on dates even after she said no, I would first assure her that he was taking the right step and that the information she was providing would be treated with confidentiality. I would also let her know that HR would investigate the allegations and behoove her to be honest and forthcoming with the information needed to facilitate the investigation. I would begin by investigating how the harassment has been going on and whether any witnesses can substantiate her claim.
