The Role of a Leader in Creating an Innovative Organization

The leadership within an organization has an integral role in diversifying innovation to fasten the process and achieve the best innovative results. When new ideas are created and exhausted, that is innovation. Linda Hill (2014) also critiques innovation as collectively based and cannot affect one's mentality. Therefore, the innovative process requires all creative minds to work harmoniously and develop a concrete idea. Similarly, every contributing participant's conflicting views need to be accounted for and not criticized negatively. For instance, when Google decided to build Gmail and Youtube, the leadership comparably took ideas from the uppertable and scratch table into account. Therefore, appropriate and effective innovation occurs based on coordinating every thought from all parties within the organization.
