Finding Your Purpose in Missio Dei

Missio Dei refers to a Latin Christian theological term that means "mission of God" It is a concept that has become increasingly important in missiology and in understanding the mission of the church since the second half of the 20th century. It refers to the work of the church as being part of God's work. So, the church's mission is a subset of a larger whole mission; that is, it is both part of God’s mission to the world and not the entirety of God’s work in the world. The concept is essentially that the work or mission of the church is a sub-set of the work of God in the world, rather than something with an independent existence.
